from our volunteers

  • Teaching at CMSWR was so much more than just an opportunity to gain teaching experience! I was welcomed into a community full of compassionate students and professional musicians, and through their guidance and friendship I was able to affirm my vocation.

I fully believe the experiences I had at CMSWR directly led me to success in teacher’s college and, now, pursuing research at the master’s level. I am so proud to have learned so much and I had so much fun working with my students, peers, and community leaders.

    – Jessica, CMSWR Teacher

  • I believe music education should be accessible for everyone. Volunteering at CMSWR was an enriching experience for me. I felt like I truly made a difference in the lives of our students who otherwise wouldn’t have had the chance to partake in music making and learning.

    – Elijah, CMSWR Teacher

Volunteers are at the heart of CMSWR

Our volunteer teachers work directly with students, develop individual music education plans, and actively build belonging. You don’t need experience – you need passion.

Along the way, you’ll gain valuable teaching experience, access specialized training seminars, and hone your teaching skills through mentorship with experienced educators.
